The RA8T2 from Renesas is a next-generation ASSP microcontroller unit (MCU) purpose-built to deliver unprecedented real-time performance for industrial control and automation systems. Featuring a 1GHz Arm® Cortex®-M85 core, and an optional 250MHz Cortex®-M33 for task separation, the RA8T2 achieves exceptional responsiveness and precision in demanding industrial environments.

RA8T2 Key Features

Built on a 22nm ultra-low-leakage (ULL) process, the RA8T2 integrates high-capacity memory and advanced peripherals for seamless performance:

  • 1GHz Arm Cortex-M85 and 250MHz Cortex-M33 cores

  • 0.5/1MB MRAM

  • 2MB SRAM including TCM and 64KB caches

  • 32-bit PWM timer, high-resolution timer

  • 16-bit A/D converter with 3 sample-and-hold circuits, 12-bit DAC

  • High-speed comparator

  • SCI (UART, Simple SPI, Simple I2C), SPI, Octal SPI, I2C, I3C, CAN FD

  • Gigabit Ethernet, TSN switch, EtherCAT® slave controller

  • Delta-sigma modulator interface

  • Secure boot with immutable storage for first stage bootloader
