Cirrus Logic CS2500, CS2501, & CS2600
As a leading supplier of low-power, high-precision mixed-signal processing solutions, Cirrus Logic is committed to delivering best-in-class audio performance. Their comprehensive portfolio of timing devices provide an ultra-clean, fully synchronized clock reference that seamlessly aligns with digital sources for streamlined audio reproduction. With automatic rate control and holdover mode, Cirrus timing devices not only support changing reference signals to ensure reliable performance, but they simplify overall system design for a wide range of audio applications.
CS2500 and CS2501
Both the CS2500 and CS2501 timing devices incorporate a programmable phase-locked loop (PLL). Their hybrid analog/digital PLL design includes a delta-sigma fractional-N analog PLL and a digital frequency-locked loop (FLL). Supporting I2C/SPI configuration, both solutions operate from a single 1.8 V or 3.3 V supply, deliver low-jitter clock outputs from noisy references, and come in commercial and AEC-Q100 grade-2 10-pin TSSOP package
![]() | The CS2500 provides frequency synthesis and clock generation using an external stable timing reference. It delivers low-jitter clock outputs even when the input reference is noisy, supporting frequencies down to 150 Hz. The device is configurable through either I²C or SPI control interfaces. It is offered in a commercial-grade 10-pin TSSOP package rated for –40°C to +85°C, as well as an AEC-Q100 grade-2 version qualified for operation from –40°C to +105°C. |

It also includes an internal oscillator that can serve as the reference source, helping reduce external component requirements. The device is offered in a commercial-grade 10-pin TSSOP package rated for –40°C to +85°C, as well as an AEC-Q100 grade-2 version qualified for –40°C to +105°C |
CS2600

The CS2600 is a system-clocking device with a programmable PLL architecture that combines a delta-sigma fractional-N analog PLL and a digital FLL. It supports frequency synthesis and low-jitter clock generation from either a stable external reference or its integrated oscillator, operating down to 150 Hz. Configuration is available through I²C/SPI or hardware control via pull-up/pull-down resistors.
With BCLK and FSYNC outputs derived from the PLL, the CS2600 automatic rate control (ARC) detects input frequency changes and adjusts PLL ratios so BCLK and FSYNC maintain proper timing during transitions.
Built-in OTP memory stores default boot-time settings and supports multiple programming cycles. The CS2600 operates from a single 1.8 V or 3.3 V supply and offers high performance with low power consumption. It is available in a commercial 16-pin QFN package (–40°C to +85°C) and an AEC-Q100 grade-2 version (–40°C to +105°C).
